Created in 1999, Vendio is a multi-platform eCommerce software system. According to its own statistics, more than two billion dollars worth of merchandise has been sold through Vendio.

But 1999 is long gone. And now, the market has many more options available than 20 years ago.
So let's see how this veteran holds up in this Vendio review. How good is this eCommerce solution and should you use it?
What Is Vendio?
Vendio isn't a typical eCommerce platform. Although it can be used to create a standalone online store, that isn't its primary purpose. Instead, it's intended to combine multiple eCommerce storefronts, built on the following platforms, into a single operation. These are there the platforms you can combine:
- eBay
- Amazon
- Etsy
- MoreCommerce
Essentially, Vendio is tailored toward eCommerce businesses with a significant online presence and is not appropriate for users just starting out in the eCommerce game.
Vendio Review: First Impressions
Although it's an older product, Vendio's website is up to date and well maintained. It's modern and easy to navigate.

Unfortunately, the same can't be said of the Vendio software interface itself. Everything is a bit clunky and is asking for a serious facelift. It's certainly not as slick or as visually appealing as modern competitors such as WooCommerce or Shopify.

Helpful Multi-Platform Integration
Once I got past the unappealing interface and started selling products with Vendio, everything started looking up. Thanks to its cross-platform compatibility, Vendio does make it easy to manage your entire eCommerce business.
I particularly liked the Analytics view, which shows total sales stats across all Vendio-integrated platforms.

Enhances Platforms Individually
Vendio also includes several platform-specific functions to help you design more successful stores.
For example, Vendio comes with professionally designed eBay templates and allows you to import listings from spreadsheet files.
Thus, it can save you time while visually enhancing your eBay storefront.
'Sell On Your Own Store' Feature Could Be Improved
My Vendio experience was let down by the inadequate standalone store feature. The included storefronts look dated and certainly don't compare to those of alternative eCommerce platforms.

Helpful Customer Support
All plans include access to live chat and phone customer support. During my Vendio review support tests, the representatives I spoke to were both friendly and knowledgeable.
Vendio Pricing
There are five different Vendio package tiers, ranging from $29.95 to $249.95/month. The key difference between packages is the number of supported products, which ranges from 300 to 25,000.
Overall, the prices are a bit on a higher side.

Vendio Plans in More Detail
Let's take a closer look at the features of the different packages:
Topaz | Ruby | Sapphire | Emerald | Diamond | |
Monthly Price | $29.95 | $49.95 | $99.95 | $149.95 | $249.95 |
Disk Space | 3GB | 10GB | 30GB | 150GB | 250GB |
Bandwidth | Unlimited | Unlimited | Unlimited | Unlimited | Unlimited |
Selling Platforms | All Supported | All Supported | All Supported | All Supported | All Supported |
Customer Support | Phone, Chat, and Email | Phone, Chat, and Email | Phone, Chat, and Email | Dedicated Account Manager | Dedicated Account Manager |
The size of your inventory will probably determine which option is best for your business. However, for enterprise scale operations, the Emerald or Diamond plans may be better because they include access to a dedicated Vendio account manager.
Vendio Performance
I tested the load times of my Vendio standalone store using Bitcatcha. The US response time was rather great, however, other servers didn't perform well.

But the results were acceptable; customers shouldn't struggle to access and view your products.
Vendio Review: Final Thoughts
Vendio is worth considering if you operate an eCommerce business through multiple platforms.
The interface could do with an update though, and I recommend you stay away from the standalone store creator feature. It's lagging behind a lot of the competition in that regard, and if you're looking to make a regular eCommerce website, you can do a lot better.
