Brinkster is a hosting company that has been around since 1999 and claims to have extensive experience - with over 50,000 customers in over 175 countries.
I decided to find out if its hosting experience had paid off in this Brinkster Review.
I’ll admit, on opening the Brinkster homepage, I wasn’t impressed. After a central top image, everything deviates to the left, and quite frankly, it just looks a mess.
When I started delving into the features of the site, half of the images showing the features included, refused to load too. This happened pretty much everytime I tried it.
So far, I was not brimming with confidence.
Brinkster also claims to have a 100% uptime guarantee. I’m generally wary of statements like this anyway, but given the problems I’d already faced, I wanted to test this statement.
Unsurprisingly, over several months, Brinkster was frequently down and elements of my site failed to load.
They also claim to offer 24/7 customer support, however, they have incredibly long response times. Even when they did reply, the support wasn't entirely helpful. On top of that, billing support is only reachable from 7 AM to noon from Monday to Friday.
At the time of writing, Brinkster offers three different plans for Windows or Linux shared hosting, Level 1, Level 2, and Level 3.
The Level 1 plan ($4.99/month) includes 10GB HDD storage and 50GB bandwidth, Level 2 plan ($7.00/month) contains 350GB HDD storage and 3.5TB bandwidth, while the Level 3 plan ($19.99/month) offers 500GB HDD storage and 6TB bandwidth.
The pricing for Brinkster's packages is same, no matter if the web hosting is for Windows or Linux.
|Level 1||Level 2||Level 3|
|How many domains allowed?||1||2||5|
|HDD or SSD used in servers?||HDD||HDD||HDD|

While the amount of bandwidth available is large, I found that if you accidentally go over, you can do nothing about it until the next billable month. This isn't exactly useful if you're site experiences rapid growth over a short space of time.
How Does Brinkster Perform?
Brinkster provides below average speeds.
My experiences were similar to this on both my computer and mobile devices, with Brinkster often being slow to load, particularly images, and frequently down.
Concluding My Brinkster Review
When I got started with Brinkster, I wasn’t hugely impressed - its website was unprofessional and information was difficult to find. Not only that, but the knowledgebase was also very difficult to navigate.
Overall, Brinkster isn't a provider I can recommend. In fact, it's the opposite. The servers were slow and frequently down, and customer service was incredibly frustrating too.
I honestly couldn’t consider Brinkster for my hosting unless it made some serious improvements. But now Brinkster can't stand out in the web hosting market at all.
