What is HostNine?

In this HostNine review, we'll take a look at the organisation that has been around for quite some time now. The company was initially founded back in 2006. After six years, HostNine was scooped up by Endurance International Group, best known for Bluehost and Hostgator.

With this cooperation, they started spreading their data centers all over the world. To provide better connectivity, they have set up data centers in the USA, the UK, Canada, Australia, Netherlands, and Asia. All these efforts zero down to minimizing the downtime.

HostNine thrives on meeting the demands of all kinds of clients – a casual blogger to the corporate giants. With one-click installation platforms such as WordPress and Joomla, they are trying to gain popularity with everyone.

To give you a better taste of the services and the features we have prepared this bulletproof HostNine review.

Services Offered by HostNine

HostNine offers a handful of services for the customers, including:

  • Shared Hosting.
  • Reseller Hosting.
  • Cloud VPS Hosting.
  • Dedicated Hosting.
  • Domain Registration.
  • SSL Certificates.

As you can see, they pretty much cover all aspects you might need for hosting your site. Their shared hosting is for Linux only and comes with three plans.

Other hosting services such as Reseller hosting comes with four different packs and Cloud VPS comes with five different packages to choose from.

Unfortunately, none of them offers Windows hosting services.

At this instant, everything looks good. Let’s jump on to the next section of our HostNine review and see the most popular - shared hosting plans.

HostNine Review - Pricing & Plans

The shared hosting comes with three different packages to choose from. They are:

hostnine review plans

Personal: The pack will cost you $6.99/mo. Unfortunately, this pricing is only available if you go for the 1-year billing cycle. Other than that, they also offer unlimited disk space and bandwidth. The plan further includes unlimited Email and FTP accounts. If you want to check it out for a month, you'll have to pay up $8.99/mo.

Business: This package starts at $11.09/mo. However, the same condition works here too. You'll have to go for the minimum 1-year billing cycle to be eligible for the reduced price. The features of disk space and bandwidth are the same as others. It also covers unlimited FTP and email accounts. To test them for a month, you’ll need to pay $14.79, which is a bit pricey.

Enterprise: This offer will cost you $14.99/mo. However, it's for longer billing cycles only. The features are the same as the other two packs. The regular monthly pricing of this pack is $19.99.

The Plans in More Detail

At first glance, these plans look good. However, we want to help you out to judge them better. That’s why we researched thoroughly and collected a lot of information for our HostNine review.

HostNine Review - Pros

Good Response Time

We checked out their response time to get a better look at their performance. They averaged at a speed below 180ms, which is a great response time and gives HostNine a solid A+!

45-day Money Back Guarantee

Most of the hosting providers out there only offer a 30-day money back guarantee. Thus, you will be able to check them out within this date without losing your money. In this case, HostNine goes ahead and offers an additional 15 days to that.

In total, you’ll get 45-days to check them out.

Data Center Selection

Choosing the data center is kind of luxury as most of the companies don't offer this feature. However, HostNine will give you the option to do that. They have data centers in Amsterdam, Singapore, the US, Canada, the UK, and Australia.

It’s best to choose the one that’s closest to your location for a better output.

HostNine Review - Cons

Bad Uptime

Performance is one of the main selling points of every hosting provider. That being said, if the provider can't guarantee a reasonable uptime, they won't likely be a good provider in the first place. We evaluated their uptime for our HostNine review, but they only seem to provide 99.66%.

This is definitely not a good output as their servers can be down for almost 5 minutes every day.

Lacks In E-Commerce

If you are hoping to host your e-commerce site here, then it’s better to stay clear. HostNine lacks tremendously in this category. They have a limited file storing capability. So, you will face a lot of hassles here.

Too Many Paid Features

Once you host your website on the servers, you'll notice small investments here and there. Ultimately, this raises the bar too high. It makes all of their pricing a bit out of the budget.

Pricey Plans

As we can see, the plans don't really fall under the "cheap" category. They are quite pricey. If you are on a budget, then it's best to look for a cheaper solution.

Bad Customer Support

HostNine provides live chat support for sales. However, when we contacted them, they didn't even reply to our questions. We were waiting for 12 hours to get feedback, but we didn't.

This fact disappointed us hugely.

HostNine Review – Should You Spend Your Dime?

Considering all the facts, we cannot but give them a better review than a below average rating. Yes, HostNine has a great response time, and data centers spread all over. But their terrible uptime, pricey plans, not-so-good customer support drag them down.

If you feel curious, you could check them out and decide afterwards.  But don't forget to take a look at other great hosting providers
