But I wasn't willing to take those claims at face value, so I got in touch with a representative over the phone. I'm happy to report I was quickly connected and the person I spoke to was friendly and knowledgeable.

To be fair, I think the plans are well priced for what they offer, but I do think it's disappointing that SSL is a purchasable add-on instead of being included.

But it's nice to see 30-day money back guarantee in place with all its packages, allowing customers to almost trial this provider for a month before committing themselves.

How Does Jaguar Hosting Perform?

For this JaguarPC review, I tested the speed of my JaguarPC site using Bitcatcha. I found that connection speeds were decent in the USA, anything below 200 ms is perfectly acceptable for most readers, but were poor for the rest of the world.

Essentially, if you expect your site to largely be read by North American visitors, JaguarPC will meet your needs. However, if you are focused on serving global traffic, you may wish to look elsewhere. I found that speeds in Asia were particularly disappointing.

Final Words In My JaguarPC Review

From the very start of using JaguarPC, it was clear that it was here to do business. When my investigation got more in-depth, that was further confirmed by the quality of the customer support I experienced and the affordability of its plans.

 Overall, JaguarPC offers strong value for money. Although there is no free plan available, even the mid-tier 'Deluxe' package is at no risk of breaking the bank.

I was a customer of JaguarPC for a few years. Compared to other hosting services they do offer a very competitive and reasonable cost for shared web hosting. They offer a variety of services that can be added to your hosting too. They’ve been around for some time and are a legitimate company. The main reason I left their host services was because of their poor server up time and their lack of helpful technical support. Even their management and regular customer support wasn’t helpful either. When things are running, they are happy to reply but when the hosting servers go down then that’s another story. It happened frequently enough that the servers would have issues and I would be the one that would contact technical support and let them know that their services were down. When an outage occurred, I never once received a notification that they were aware of the issue and working on the problem. I was usually the first to contact them even though they claim to monitor the servers 24hrs a day. I was lucky if an outage occurred during regular business hours. I could usually get someone on the phone and make them aware of the issue and it would get resolved within a few hours. Afterhours and weekends were a whole other story. I assume they use some 3rd party service that is worthless. If an outage occurred afterhours no one ever picked up the phone and I couldn’t leave a message. Sometimes their online chat would work otherwise I usually had to submit a support ticket a hope someone would respond. They never met their SLAs for getting back to me on high severity issues. Their afterhours support can’t handle any major issues. During a holiday weekend the server had issues from Friday until Tuesday when their regular support was in the office. No one from their afterhours support was able to resolve the issues and they wouldn’t escalate to the on-call engineers. If the standard server restart didn’t resolve the issue then it would continue to have problems until the next business day. Also, any time an issue occurred over the weekend I knew I wouldn’t get support and would have to deal with the issue until the following business days. I brought up my concerns to their management but like their support I didn’t get a response as it seems they didn’t care about my business. That said, if you need a reliable site then I would strongly suggest to use a different hosting company. They don’t live up to their guaranteed update time and unfortunately their technical support and customer service is way below par.
