Starting up way back in 1998, JaguarPC is a veteran of the hosting industry. It manages thousands of servers situated across the world, hosting a total of over 300,000 domains.
These are big numbers but what's more exceptionally large is the range of services that JaguarPC offers. It isn't just hosting services. In fact, it goes as far as to provide its own web design & development team.
And so, with such a broad offering and audience, is this the right provider for you? Let's dig a little deeper.
JaguarPC First Impressions
Aside from the JaguarPC site being super-well designed (a positive reflection of its design services, perhaps?), the first thing that jumps out is the fact it provides a huge range of services.
Seriously, JaguarPC offers all of the following services:
- Business Hosting
- WordPress Hosting
- Cloud Hosting
- Reseller Hosting
- Dedicated Servers
- IT Services
- Data Backup
- Domain Registration
- Web Design
- WordPress Design
- All-Inclusive Website Packages (Design & Managed Hosting)
To make getting started easier, JaguarPC offers a wide range of tools and apps for getting your website up and running quickly. It also offers free data migration which is always nice to see if you need hosting for a website you already own.
Solid Customer Support
The first thing on the list of benefits of JaguarPC hosting is exceptional support. Customer support is marked as available 24/7 by phone, through live chat or via a ticket system.
But I wasn't willing to take those claims at face value, so I got in touch with a representative over the phone. I'm happy to report I was quickly connected and the person I spoke to was friendly and knowledgeable.
JaguarPC offers three pricing options: Lite, Deluxe, and Business Pro.
The Lite plan ($3.87/month) includes 20GB of HDD disk space and 25,000 visits, the Deluxe plan ($6.27/month) contains a 75GB HDD and 150,000 visits, while the Business Pro plan ($13.97/month) offers unlimited SSD storage and 500,000 visits.
|Bandwidth (visits p/m)||25,000 visits||150,000 visits||500,000 visits|
|How many domains allowed?||1||2||4|
|HDD or SSD used in servers?||HDD||HDD||SSD|
|SSL||Not Included||Not Included||Not Included|
|Money-back guarantee||30 Days||30 Days||30 Days|
|Customer support||Live Chat, Phone, Email, Tickets||Live Chat, Phone, Email, Tickets||Live Chat, Phone, Email, Tickets|
|Choice of server location||No – USA Only||No – USA only||No – USA Only|
|Free automated backups||Every day||Every day||Every day|
To be fair, I think the plans are well priced for what they offer, but I do think it's disappointing that SSL is a purchasable add-on instead of being included.
But it's nice to see 30-day money back guarantee in place with all its packages, allowing customers to almost trial this provider for a month before committing themselves.
How Does Jaguar Hosting Perform?
For this JaguarPC review, I tested the speed of my JaguarPC site using Bitcatcha. I found that connection speeds were decent in the USA, anything below 200 ms is perfectly acceptable for most readers, but were poor for the rest of the world.
Essentially, if you expect your site to largely be read by North American visitors, JaguarPC will meet your needs. However, if you are focused on serving global traffic, you may wish to look elsewhere. I found that speeds in Asia were particularly disappointing.
Final Words In My JaguarPC Review
From the very start of using JaguarPC, it was clear that it was here to do business. When my investigation got more in-depth, that was further confirmed by the quality of the customer support I experienced and the affordability of its plans.
Overall, JaguarPC offers strong value for money. Although there is no free plan available, even the mid-tier 'Deluxe' package is at no risk of breaking the bank.
