Midphase Review

With a firm focus on customer satisfaction and high-quality services, Midphase has been in the business for over two decades.

In this Midphase review, we'll see how well this hosting provider performs against the competition - in terms of price, performance, customer support, and more.

What is Midphase?

Midphase is a provider offering several hosting and online service plans - fit for both complete beginners, seasoned experts, and everyone in between.

  • Domains names
  • Shared Web Hosting
  • VPS Cloud Hosting
  • Dedicated servers
  • Managed hosting
  • Email Hosting
  • Website Builder

To put it in simple terms - Midphase has pretty much everything you can ask from a hosting provider - virtually any kind of client can be given what they need.

But of course, quantity doesn't always mean quality. So, in this Midphase review, we'll see how good its shared hosting services are.

Midphase Pricing

Midphase offers 3 main shared hosting plans - Personal (starting from $3.95/month), Professional (starting from $4.95/month), and Business (starting from $5.95/month). Overall, these prices look pretty good.

But let's have a deeper look at the plans now.

midphase review hosting plans
  • Personal – it is an inexpensive Linux hosting plan perfect for getting started with smaller websites. The price is $3.95 per month for a 12-month, 24-month or 36-month subscriptions. It includes a free domain, unlimited web space, unlimited bandwidth, one website, and unlimited Emails.
  • Professional - it is an affordable hosting plan created for larger or multiple websites that may need additional resources. The price is $4.95 per month for a 12-month, 24-month or 36-month subscriptions. It comes with a free domain, unlimited web space, unlimited bandwidth, 3 websites, and unlimited emails.
  • Business – it is an enjoyable hosting plan optimized for complex websites that must prioritize performance and uptime. The price is $5.95 per month for a 12-month, 24-month or 36-month subscriptions. It comes with a free domain, unlimited web space, unlimited bandwidth, unlimited websites, and unlimited Emails.

Although the Professional plan seems to be Midphase’s most popular plan - it seems that the Business plan allows you to make more than 3 websites and only costs an extra dollar a month.

Or...does it?

As it often is with web hosting, you'll only be able to pay for the entire period in advance. And the shorter the period is, the bigger monthly price you'll have to pay. Here's how the prices of the Personal plan change with each available period.

The lowly price $3.95 per month remains for a 12-month, 24-month or 36-month subscriptions while the price goes for a whopping sum of $7.95 for a month, and $6.95 per month for a 3-month subscription.

The table below compares and contrasts the prices for each of the three hosting plans over a given subscription period.

$4.95 ($178.20)

$5.95  ($214.20)

So, there you have it - the price difference between the 3 plans is actually quite big. And it's mostly caused by the fact you need to pay for the entire period in advance.

Midphase Performance

In our performance evaluation, we've tested uptime and worldwide response times - and Midphase has proven to be a reliable host with decent servers.

When it came to worldwide performance, the servers did really well in the US, however, they were slightly lacking in Asia. Therefore, the overall look is only average.

midphase review speed

Where Midphase really shines though, is its uptime. Servers were up for slightly more than 99.99%, which is as good as pretty much any company in the business. Overall - Midphase is not a speed demon, but it sure is reliable.

Midphase Pros

Now, to wrap up this Midphase review, let's have a look at some of the strengths of this hosting provider. Here are the things that I loved the most:

Easy-to-navigate control panel

Midphase offers you an intuitive control panel that is easy to navigate. This enables you to manage your site quickly and easily, to get access to email modules, databases and allow you to activate add-ons which can make your website work harder for you. Overall, using Midphase is a breeze.

Good support system

All 3 hosting plans come with 24/7 support from the Midphase’s professional team. You can access them via online ticket, email, or phone. And there's also an extensive knowledge base, covering all of the frequently asked questions. This service is 24/7 - and it's as good as pretty much anything offered in the market right now.

Solid uptime

Reliability is one of the defining features of a great host. The less your website is down, the better - that's a no brainer. And Midphase passes this challenge in flying colors. The uptime rate of Midphase is comfortably over 99.99%, which is a great result.

Midphase Cons

Sadly, no host in perfect. And the same is true about Midphase. Here are some of the concerning things we've discovered about the host:

No free website builder

A website builder is a great way to quickly build a website - and it's a useful feature to have on any hosting provider. And while many include a builder for free, Midphase simply doesn't. That's a drawback.

Only average server speed

Fast website response and load times are very important - and sadly, this is where Midphase is still not amazing. For a service that's very reliable, good response times would complete the package. Sadly, the reality is different - response times are only average.

Midphase Review - Conclusion

Midphase is a pretty good hosting provider, offering great reliability and knowledgeable customer support. However, it's not perfect - namely because of the server response time and a lack of an included website builder.

However, if you overlook these couple of flaws, Midphase remains a great hosting provider with a lot of advanced hosting packages to offer your sites and businesses.

  • Unlimited resources
  • Great reliability
  • Good customer support

  • Subpar speed
  • No website builder included
