What is MochaHost?
In this MochaHost review, I will go deep into one of the well-established companies that offer both reseller and direct hosting options for your needs. MochaHost mainly focus on shared hosting and provides a lot of hosting options including, VPS, reseller and dedicated hosting.
So, if you are looking for a hosting provider that offers you the whole package, then MochaHost might just be the right option for you. MochaHost has been with us since 2002 and has built up quite a reputation in the market over the years. Their primary data center is located at California, which is also their main branch.
To help you out, I will analyze their services and plans in this, this way you’ll know just what to expect from them. Lets rumble!
Services Offered by MochaHost
MochaHost offers a lot of services, including:
- Shared Hosting
- Dedicated Hosting
- Reseller Hosting
- VPS Hosting
- SSL Certificates
- Domain Names
It looks that they will cover almost everything you need to get you started. Their shared hosting covers both Linux and Windows operating systems. Both OS include three types of hosting packages.
All of their reseller hosting plans offer unlimited bandwidth. However, they all have limited disk space. The reseller hosting plans are for both operating systems and include nine different offers for each.
MochaHost also offers a lot of plans for dedicated hosting and VPS hosting packages.
Therefore, at first glance, everything they offer looks quite lucrative. But I will take a more thorough look into all of their plans and pricing in my MochaHost review guide to get a better understanding.
Without further ado, let’s get on with it.
MochaHost Pricing & Plans
I will take a quick look at their plans and pricing for Linux:
Soho: This plan will cost you $1.95/mo. However, this rate is only possible if you take their 3-year billing cycle. You will be able to get this plan at a 60% discount only then. Soho also offers unlimited disk space and bandwidth. It also comes with unlimited Email and FTP accounts. MochaHost recommends this plan if you want to have a small biz site.
Business: This one also comes with a discount offer. It will cost you $3.48/mo. With the 50% discount. However, you won’t have to commit to a 3-year plan for this one. It offers unlimited disk space, bandwidth, Email, and FTP accounts. MochaHost recommends this plan if you want to start an e-commerce business.
Mocha: With a 58% discount rate, this plan starts at $5.59/mo. However, you will only get this price if you commit to their 3-year plan. Other than this, they also offer unlimited bandwidth, disk space, FTP, and Email accounts. MochaHost recommends this plan if you want a high traffic website.

Every hosting provider has a good and a bad side. Let’s see whether MochaHost indeed performs the way they claim.
Excellent Response Time - MochaHost averages a speed below 180ms, which is quite exceptional. The standard response time for a typical site is 890ms and MochaHost is almost 394% faster than that.
Free SSL Certificate for Lifetime - Almost every one of their plan offers Free SSL Certificate for a lifetime. This way, you won’t have to spend extra bucks on SSL certification anymore. They got you covered with their hosting plans.
Excellent Uptime - MochaHost advertises to provide 100% uptime. However, they are genuinely able to ensure 99.94% uptime, which is also another plus point. This one surely amazed me.
Limited Resources for the Starter Pack - Almost every one of their lowest cost plan had limited resources to offer. Compared to other hosting providers on the market this was indeed a letdown. You will get more flexibility with the high priced plans.
Bad Customer Support - MochaHost offers a lot of options to reach them. You will get a 24/7 live chat, ticket, and phone system to reach out about any technical support. This is one of the crucial parts of our MochaHost review, that’s why we reached out to their live chat support to see how knowledgeable they are.
To our surprise, they failed even to answer the most straightforward questions. They also took a lot of time to reply and mostly I had to wait for 10-20 minutes after every question we asked. Such kind of behavior really left me disappointed.
MochaHost Review – Are They Really Worth It?
If you want a variety of options with lots of freebies, then MochaHost might be the right way to go. They come with great response time and uptime. Other than that, they also offer a lot of services with different hosting plans.
The main disappointment might be their customer support and pricing. The affordable plans won’t give you the flexibility you need, so you might have to go for the pricey ones.
All in all, MochaHost seems to be worth it if you have a flexible budget. However, you should be the one to make the last call. So, we'd recommend you to check it out for at least one month before committing to it ultimately. And if you decide to go another way, there are some great hosting providers to select from.
- Free SSL
- 100% Uptime Guarantee
- 180 Days Risk Fee Support
- Poor Customer Support
- Deteriorating Services
