With its range of dedicated servers intended to deliver web hosting facilities to clients of varying sizes, Psychz Networks proclaims itself to be the "Fastest growing private company five years in the row:.
Well - that's only partially true. Profuse Solutions, Psychz's parent company does feature in the Inc. 5000 list of 2018 (showing America's fastest growing companies from 2014 to 2017) - just not in the top position.
But that is still very impressive! With a 112% growth in the last few years, this company is doing something right.
And would you and your business be doing something right by moving to Psychz Networks? In this review, we'll find out.
My First Impression
Straight off the bat, I was highly impressed with the network of servers that Psychz Networks has put in place. This provider runs most of its infrastructure itself, and has servers located all over the world. Seriously - just have a look.
Many companies seem perfectly confident in one location in the US, one in Europe, and maybe one in Asia if you're lucky.
Not Psych Networks - it's going all out, even adding datacenters in locations like Taiwan or South Africa.
If I'm being completely honest, I don't think I have worked with a better dedicated server system in this area.
I also found the dashboard within the system to be particularly effective, while its compatibility with mobile platforms was also impressive.
Psychz Networks has also made a massive commitment to security, offering its in-house DDoS mitigation up to 500 Gbps and a CDN capable of offering a real 100% uptime.
That being said, not everything on Psychz Networks was perfect. Actually, I even managed to catch its own website lurking, with a 502 Bad Gateway error on one of the pages.
A freak accident or a sign of things to come? I guess we'll find out. But not before another very important thing!
Psychz Networks Pricing
Psychz Networks seem to be aiming their services at medium-to-large enterprises. However, the are still some fairly affordable dedicated server plans ranging from $59 to $124 per month. If you wish to go further, they allow for plenty of customization options and certainly offer something for (almost) everyone.
You can see more details on three (out of 57!) of the key packages offered in the table below:
|E6700||E3-1270 V6||E5-1650 V4|
|Price||$59 per month||$60 per month||$124 per month|
|Processor||E6700 - 3.20GHz||E3-1270 V6 - 3.80Ghz||E5-1650 V4 - 3.60Ghz|
|Location||Los Angeles||Los Angeles||Los Angeles|
|Storage||250GB SATA-2||1TB SATA-3||1TB SATA-3|
|Switch Port Speed||100Mbps||1Gbps||1Gbps|
|DDoS Protection||20Gbps Attack Protection||20Gbps Attack Protection||20Gbps Attack Protection|
One thing to note is that Psychz charges a fee for setting up your server, which means that your first month will come at a higher cost than the following months.
However, within the first months payment, you can choose to add things such as extra bandwidth, better DDoS protection, control panel features etc. which doesn't affect your following monthly rates.
You can have a look at how many things you can get immediately with your dedicated server. That's quite a bunch!
What can be said is that there is an incredible diversity of performance delivered by Psychz Networks, and I feel like 99.9% of the users will have to issues finding the type of package they're looking for.
Psychz Review Performance
During my Psychz Networks review, I tested their server on Bitcatcha. You can see the results below:
Performance of the website was pretty good. Considering that even a fairly inexpensive $60-a-month plan runs on a 2017 Intel Xeon processor, the overall performance of the servers is really great.
And despite the weird issues on the provider's own website, the tested server had nothing of the like happening. So that's great news.
Psychz Networks Review - Conclusion
Overall, Psychz Networks seem to be loved by a lot of people and around the Internet.
So really, it's no surprise to see this provider enjoy the 112% revenue growth in the past few years.
It's doing a lot of things and it's doing a lot of things very, very right.
However, while it is a jack of all trades, there are some genuine shortcomings. The entry-level servers use painfully outdated Intel Pentium processors back from 2010. And while the performance of non-Pentium servers isn't bad, the company is due an additional hardware upgrade.
And with no free trial or a simple money-back guarantee, some users may have serious reservations before purchasing these services.
All of that aside, there is one thing that Psychz Networks genuinely shine in.
Time and time again, Psychz Networks proved itself to be great when defending against DDoS attacks - if that's your primary concern, then this is your provider of choice.
For everything else, you can get a company that's faster, cheaper, or even both.
