Who Is VPSrv?

VPSrv is a web hosting service provider, founded in 2015 by the CEO of an International Security and IT Consulting Company, Websec GesmbH. VPSrv was initially established as a company for web security and only later began to offer secure and stable hosting for worldwide clients. In my VPSrv review, I will take a closer look at this Austria-based web hosting company and their services.

Services Offered by VPSrv

VPSrv organization is quite small but professional - the team consists of 3 security and IT specialists. The VPSrv name (possibly not by an accident) gives us the clue that we should emphasize on VPS hosting services. And that's what I'll do in my VPSrv review, but first, let's take a look at all the services provided by this web hosting company:

  • VPS Hosting (SSD and HDD)
  • Dedicated Servers
  • Shared Hosting
  • Domain Registration

An admirable bonus is that all VPSrv servers are DDoS protected and isolated from each other in case of attacks and malicious injections. This means that even if a machine in servers is compromised, you'll not be affected. Additionally, you'll get your servers with dedicated resources, no matter if you order a VPS or a Dedicated server!

Furthermore, in my VPSrv review, I'll focus on VPS Hosting as it's the main feature of this company. So, let's jump to the pricing for these services:

VPSrv VPS Hosting Pricing & Plans

When choosing your perfect plan, there's an option between HDD and SSD drives for your storage. Of course, SSD hosting will be more expensive but also you'll get more speed and reliability. With SSD servers your website will store, access and serve data to visitors more efficient.

In my VPSrv review, I'll check both options.

VPSrv HDD VPS plans

vpsrv review hdd plans

VPSrv offers five plans for HDD VPS. All of the plans come with unlimited bandwidth and 1GBps uplink. The most prestigious one, VPS-8W, provides you with 8 virtual processors (vCPUs), 8GB of RAM and 150 GB HDD. For VPS servers VPSrv offers servers located in France and Germany.

vpsrv review ssd plans

For just a couple buck more (for the most basic plan) you can get an SSD storage instead of HDD. The most elaborated plan will be $8 more expensive monthly if you'll decide to go with the faster SSD offer. VPSrv SSD database is located in Poland.

VPSrv Pricing In More Detail

An interesting thing is that there's no shady upsell or catch with this hosting provider! If you choose to pay yearly, you'll even pay less than $10.99/month for the basic HDD plan. And all the prices are already calculated with the IP address. A great example of some clean pricing, that's become a rarity amongst most of the web hosting providers:

vpsrv review pricing

You can choose monthly, Quarterly, Semi-Annually or Annually billing cycle. Let's see how much it'll cost for each HDD VPS plan.

VPSrv HDD Pricing

Monthly $10.99 $17.99 $28.99 $38.99 $47.99
Quarterly $29.99 $50.99 $83.99 $111.99 $136.99
Semi-Annually $58.99 $100.99 $165.99 $214.99 $266.99
Yearly $116.99 $172.99 $328.99 $427.99 $527.99

Speaking about the clear pricing, the only misleading thing may be the .99 which can be a huge psychological factor. I'm just kidding, of course. If you'll decide to go with the yearly cycle, it will even cost you way less, for example, $9.75/month for the VPS-1W plan, $14.40/month for VPS-2W and so on. Ordering The VPS-8W yearly billing cycle means that you'll pay $44/month.

VPSrv SSD Pricing

Monthly $12.99 $20.99 $33.99 $45.99 $55.99
Quarterly $34.99 $58.99 $97.99 $132.99 $163.99
Semi-Annually $68.99 $116.99 $194.99 $264.99 $326.99
Yearly $133.99 $227.99 $388.99 $527.99 $647.99

If you already know that you need faster loading speed and more elaborated services, you should go with the SSD option. Similarly, as in HDD option, the price per month is lower as you go with the longer billing cycle. In other words, the VPSrv shows you with the regular price and it only goes down along the way.

VPSrv VPS Offer in More Detail

Let’s add a little bit more details to our VPSrv review and compare certain aspects of plans that are important when choosing a VPS. The main difference for HDD and SSD is in server locations, so I'll generalize features for HDD and SSD in one table:

1W 2W 4W 6W 8W

Each VPS has the ability to get a free SSL and additionally renew it everytime it would expire. Also, if you're not satisfied with your first 30 days, the VPSrv will provide you with a full refund. All VPSrv systems run with antimalware and a custom firewall made to protect from attacks against their code or infrastructure.

One more thing worth mentioning is the available OS. When signing up for an unmanaged VPS, you will be asked to select a platform on which your server will function. Luckily, VPSrv allows you to choose from all the popular ones – Centos (both 6 and 7), Debian, Ubuntu, OpenSUSE, Windows, Fedora and couple more.

And there are some additional add-ons that may come in handy:

vpsrv review addons

As I mentioned before in my VPSrv review, this company prioritizes security, so no wonder that you can buy additional web security add-ons. Also, for an additional fee, you can get a special setup for your server just within 48 hours after receiving your service.

VPSrv Performance

As we could've guessed, the website speed is great in Europe and pretty good in the United States. Unfortunately, it lacks in some parts of Asia:

vpsrv review response time

The uptime guarantee is 99.95% which is pretty neat. Most web hosting providers are only able to keep their servers up 99.9% of the time. According to our uptime calculator, this means that your site can go down for only 43s every day:

More to add, if VPSrv fails to provide the promised uptimes, they'll partially (in some cases even fully) refund your payment.

VPSrv Pros

Let’s start moving this VPSrv review towards the end. First, let’s go over the advantages of their VPS offer.

Great Online Security

For VPSrv online security is a top priority. They are incident free since the day one and are doing everything to keep it this way.

Free automated back-ups

Backing up data is really not interesting but important nevertheless. Usually, we understand that we had no backups when something goes wrong. That's where free automated daily backups come into play. VPSrv ensures that if something ugly happens, clients will be able to restore data without any problems.

Decent OS Choice and Specs for the Price

You can get a VPS with decent technical specifications for just $11/mo. And the choice of operating systems is top-notch.

24/7 Support

I know, I know. The ticket system is not a live chat but I just have no reason to complain. I've got an answer in about 4 minutes and it was really elaborate. The person behind the support knew what he's talking about and provided me with all the information I've asked for. So don't be bewildered with the lack of the live-chat and try their ticket system before making an assumption.

Fast Servers

All servers have dedicated resources and you can choose between HDD and SSD. Also, VPS servers use XEN HVM hardware virtualization. This will provide you with superior levels of performance.

Clear Pricing

No ugly upsells, no hidden billing, no fees appearing out of nowhere. You pay for what you see and it's just as simple as that.

VPSrv Cons

Sadly, there are a few things that could be improved. Let’s quickly recap them.

Choice of VPS Server Locations

While server locations for shared hosting are pretty great, for VPS it could be better. For example, SSD VPS the data center is only one - in Poland.

Average Overall Performance

Again, this is related to the locations of data centers. While the response times from Europe or the US are great, the ones from India are quite poor.

VPSrv Review Summary

If you are looking for reliable, inexpensive and remarkably secure Virtual Private Server, VPSrv might very be interesting for you. You may want to give it a try, and there's no reason to hesitate. You have a money-back guarantee, great support, and transparent pricing. Uptime is great and if something goes sideways, you'll be refunded. Although it doesn't look that anything should go sideways soon.

  • 99.95% Uptime
  • Free SSL Keys
  • Free Automated Backups
  • No Upsells
  • SSD and HDD Servers

  • VPS Servers Only In Europe
