Weblium claims to be the next generation website builder, combining ultimate ease of use, great page performance, and interesting design features.
With a mobile-first approach to design and an AI supervisor, helping to spot any visual problems, it's supposed to be a perfect modern website builder solution.
But is it really?
Let's review Weblium website builder and see if it really does all the great stuff that it promises.
What is Weblium?
Weblium is an easy-to-use website design tool. It was created by a web studio which itself produces designs directly for customers. They made Weblium in response to their clients' demands for a do-it-yourself website creator platform.
It can be considered an all-inclusive website building and hosting platform. Each Weblium plan includes access to a website design package as well as a cloud server - so you don't have to purchase hosting separately.
A Very User-Friendly Website Builder
Getting started with Weblium was simple. Immediately after signing up, I got to choose from a wide variety of site styles - templates, suited for a specific business or cause.
Overall, the templates were not only great-looking and functional - but they're also a fair bit different. That is always a great option because most likely you'll find a website template which is close to the vision you're after.
After selecting a site style which suited mine the best, I was able to begin building my site out of a range of content blocks and customizing things like color scheme and fonts. Everything was highly customizable - by choosing a theme, you don't automatically commit to what a theme is supposed to be.
Instead, a theme tries to suit itself to your own ideas. The way it should be.
A Platform Built Around AI Design
However, with great design freedom comes great design responsibility. And sometimes, that leads to issues - Weblium aims to fix that, too.
The Weblium creators seemingly worried that the end-product would suffer if they gave their users unlimited freedom over site design.
For that reason, they integrated an AI Design Supervisor into the Weblium system. It automatically converts content blocks added to your site to match your chosen template, keeping your aesthetic consistent.
In my review, this worked really well. I was able to choose blocks from Weblium's extensive library without worrying about whether they would fit with my current look
Weblium offers two plans - there's a limited free plan, and a Pro package, that costs $10.50.month and includes all of the premium features.
Overall, the Pro package is a good deal for your money. That's because the free Weblium package only offers a limited feature set and includes compulsory Weblium branding.
Weblium also offers a 'Reseller' package for designers who use the platform to make multiple sites. Reseller prices vary depending on how many websites you order.
Furthermore, Weblium provides a separate design service through Weblium Studio. This lets you hire a website design professional to produce a site for you. Rates begin at $49.
The key differences between the Pro and the Free Weblium plans are that you can't use the free plan to connect your own domain, is that the free one only includes a subdomain, but the Pro package comes with domain registration. The other differences between the plans are summarized below.
|Can connect own domain?||No||Yes|
|Not Included||Yes, costs $15/year extra|
|Support||24/7 Live Chat||24/7 Live Chat|
At $10.50/month, the Pro package is a bargain given that it includes domain registration and unlimited storage. I don't recommend the Free plan unless you are creating a website for personal use. The compulsory Weblium ads make free sites unsuitable for business use.
But what also makes Weblium bad for business is very limited eCommerce support. There is no native online sales solution on offer. Instead, you get an opportunity to get Ecwid on your website - but that will cost you a solid $600 setup fee plus $126 per year.
So if you're looking to sell online, Weblium isn't for you. I suggest having a look at our top eCommerce platforms instead.
Weblium Customer Support
Weblium provides 24/7 live chat customer support and a range of video blogs to help you learn how to use the platform. During my tests, service representatives responded quickly to my queries in a timely and helpful manner.
Response times ranged from 2 to 5 minutes, and for questions, I was also offered tutorial articles to do some light reading while I wait. Overall - pretty good.
During my Weblium review, I tested a Weblium website speed using GTMetrix.
Results were actually seriously good. Mind you, they could slightly be slightly lower on huge websites with a massive amount of media but for a basic website, Weblium is as good as it gets.
Weblium Review - The Final Verdict
Weblium is an impressive and affordable website building service. It's fast, super easy to use, and has plenty of beautiful website templates.
However, it's not a suitable tool if you wish to sell online. But for everything else - it's definitely worth a shot. Especially with a free plan, as it's very easy to set up. Try it out yourself and see what you think.
- Great looking templates
- AI assistant works well
- Incredibly easy to use
- Affordable prices
- No eCommerce support
- Doesn't give you a lot of control over design
