WebSelf is an online website builder that presents itself to be perfect for beginners. It offers many features and is described as being 'ready to use' and the 'easiest website builder out there'. Is that the case?
To test and discover whether WebSelf is the easiest website builder, I created my own website. I also played around with a bunch of features to get a feel of what I could get from the builder.
In this WebSelf review, I'll dissect in detail how the website builder works. Or, if the paid plans would be worth the price for what you receive.
What Is WebSelf?
WebSelf is an online website builder for hassle-free site creation. With WebSelf, you can create a website in three easy steps. All you have to do is choose a template, add your content and publish. With the drag and drop function, moving your content around is simple and quick.
The main idea is that you don't have to have any technical knowledge to be able to create your own website with this builder. That's why the WebSelf is ideal for people in businesses or individuals looking to create their own blogs or even e-shops.
Also, it's great for global audiences. One of WebSelf's key aspects is that it's multilingual - you can use it in English, French, and Spanish.
Now that we know WebSelf's claims, let's dive into how building a free website on WebSelf actually looks like.
There are many features of WebSelf that are attractive to people building websites. Custom templates, social media integration and advanced tools for skilled professionals are all included.
In this portion of my WebSelf review, I will show you the features and how useful they are.
As soon as you sign up for WebSelf, you'll be able to choose a template for your website. WebSelf does well in offering many different options to choose from. There are more than 600 templates to pick from to your liking. Most of them are pretty generic, but the good thing is that you can take the blank template and customize it to your needs.
You can view them by categories depending on what your aim is, which makes it quicker to find what you're looking for. These include restaurants and foods, artists, businesses, blogs, online stores, and so on.
If you're not sure whether the template you're liking is what you want, you have a chance to preview it. You can also add in your own content to see how it looks.
Once you've decided on a template, it's time to start customizing your website. You can add various forms of content to your page: images, online forms, videos, audio clips, maps, files, slideshows, etc.
The template you choose can be customized by styles, fonts, colors, backgrounds and anything else you wish. There's a library of images that will make your search for content to put on your website much more efficient.
WebSelf also lets you integrate your website with social media. It does so by providing instant social share buttons.
Tools for Functionality
The free version of WebSelf is basic and simple, and if that's what you're looking for, you'll be set. However, it might be a bit too simple for someone with a bigger skillset, which is why the Premium versions would be a better fit.
If you want to stick to the free version, WebSelf also offers more advanced features that would please not only the beginner but someone in need of more functionality.
WebSelf advertises some other features that should please its users:
- Ability to view the statistics of your website
- Tablet and mobile optimization
- 24-hour ticket support
- Broad help center for your questions
- All-included web hosting
- Optimization for Google visibility
These features will make sure that users of all skill levels are satisfied with the options they have to improve their website.
WebSelf offers three Premium plans at 3 affordable price points ranging from $7.95 to $18.45/mo. The cheapest plan is the Basic plan at $8.95/mo, which offers a few more features than the free version. The most expensive and complex is the eCommerce plan, coming it at $18.45/mo.
If you want to have your own custom domain name or a personalized e-mail address, you can only get those with one of the Premium plans. There are monthly and yearly plans to choose from, but I'd suggest sticking to yearly to save money.
If you're only starting out, you'd want to consider a Basic plan, that comes in at $8.95/mo. You'll have ten pages of space, a free domain, two e-mail addresses and 2 GBs of both disk space and bandwidth. Very basic statistics will also come included in the package.
Skilled tech-heads out there will want to dive into the Pro plan, that's more expensive at $13.95/mo. For the slight bump in price, you'll get the Basic plan features and many more. Also included is five times as many pages. This is the plan for you if not only the ticket but phone support is important. Also, if you want switching languages on your website to be possible.
And if you want to go all out and have all the features you could ever need, the eCommerce plan is ideal. It's the most costly out of the three, taking $18.45 out of your pocket each month. If your goal is to create and manage an e-shop, this is what you want to use. You'll have unlimited pages, VIP support, and much more disk space and bandwidth. E-shop features that you'll be happy to use include:
- Unlimited store items
- Shipping management
- Promotion codes
- Various payment options
- Inventory and tax management
So if you're looking for a good website builder to manage your e-shop, you'll find that WebSelf has all you need to operate smoothly.
All in all, you should be able to find a plan from the ones mentioned above that will meet your needs and budgetary options.
Is WebSelf Right for Me?
Any individual wanting to create a blog or any type of website will find WebSelf very minimalistic and easy to use. Personal customization is an attractive feature, and so are the tools you can use for free.
There are many options of templates to choose from and that makes every website unique. The modern aesthetics and ability to make your site as creative as you want is also a pro.
People wanting to launch e-shops will be particularly satisfied with WebSelf for all their needs. It offers all the things you e-shop would ever need, along with a top-notch support team. Your business would be sure to run smoothly with the help of WebSelf.
WebSelf Review - Our Verdict
As we've learned from this WebSelf review, it is generally an affordable website builder. It has many tools to kick off whatever content you want to create. You can choose from many plans to receive the features you want and need.
eCommerce shops will benefit most from WebSelf, but any others will be satisfied too. Running your business will become much less of a hassle.
If you're looking for something that takes a short time to produce, is easy to use, looks good and functions well - WebSelf can be a nice choice. However, there are other great website builders that offer much more customization options if you need complete design freedom.
