X10Hosting offers a basic, free hosting package that claims to be full of features but easy to use.
But are they any easier to use than other free services?
My X10Hosting review uncovers the truth.
Setting-Up and Support
One thing that is certainly true is that you can set it up very quickly. It took me less than five minutes to register and get to the main dashboard.
However, many other X10 Hosting reviews report issues with usernames and passwords.
Even worse, delays of 7 days are common when it comes to getting a response from customer service.
Sure, X10Hosting has a well laid-out site and a well-organized community, but there aren't actually any answers of real substance to any problems I had.
It feels like X10Hosting are ticking a box when it comes to fast set-up, but then I'm on my own and completely stuck if I need help. This isn't good at all, as customer support is beyond crucial.
As for pricing, the main service that X10Hosting provides is completely free.
However, there is also a premium service offering unlimited domains, disk space, bandwidth and much more.
At $6.95 per month, it's already very reasonable for what's included. However, if you pay for three years in one go, then the translated cost of $3.95 per month is even more reasonable.
Paying for three years (or even two years) in one go also gets you some other tasty perks: a free domain each year, a free SSL certificate and a free dedicated IP address.
Plans in More Detail
All plans are covered by a Service Level Agreement that guarantees money back if uptime is under 99.9%. The level of support is the same for all, but the memory and a total number of processes is the main reason for paying extra.
|SDD or HDD||HDD||SDD|
|SSL||No||Yes (with biennial and triennial plans)|
|Customer Support||None||24/7 tickets|
The biggest difference between the two is the fact that there is literally zero customer support in the free package. This is a huge deal for me, and so I would only advise the free version for trial purposes.
For $6.99/month, the Infinity package is competitively priced considering the features it provides. As well as the 24/7 customer support, you also reap the benefits of SSD used in the servers.
I ran a Bitcatcha test and found X10Hosting to deliver a good level of overall response-time performance.
I can only pick fault at the speeds displayed in India, which were rather below average and should be amended. If the connection in India is significant to you, I'd advise looking elsewhere.
Also, in my own testing over the last 30 days, I had no issues with general uptime; X10 met the terms of its SLA comfortably.
X10Hosting Review - Summary
Overall, I don't actually have too much to complain about.
X10Hosting performs well in terms of uptime and competitive prices (especially if you pay for 3 years in bulk). It also offers a free option, and although it's very basic, it allows you to get a glimpse of what to expect before you buy.
