YourLastHost is a web hosting service that offers data center locations in the USA, Europe, and Asia. YourLastHost's branding isn't subtle, it's all based around the idea that YourLastHost is the only host you'll ever need.
But is that only advertising - or should this service replace your current hosting provider? Let's find out.
What is YourLastHost?
YourLastHost was founded in January 2016 and operates as a subsidiary of Host Namaste. Since its humble beginnings, YourLastHost has added four global data centers to its portfolio and hosted over one hundred thousand websites.
As for the services that it provides, YourLastHost actually offers a wide variety of options. That includes Linux/Windows shared and reseller hosting.
But it doesn't stop there. Server types include VPS and bare-metal dedicated machines. YourLastHost is flexible when it comes to VPS management, offering developer-friendly OpenVZ and KVM setups as well as managed cPanel packages.
I can go as far and say that YourLastHost has one of the best hosting server selection in the market.
But in this YourLastHost review, we'll be focusing on one product - and that's the Linux shared hosting.
A Reliable Hosting Option
YourLastHost claims that its web hosting packages offer enterprise-level solutions at consumer prices. Part of the way it does this is proactively monitoring data centers for potential issues and using automation to tackle technical troubles before they knock your server offline.
During my testing, I found that this worked well. I didn't experience any downtime with my YourLastHost review website, backing up its claims of 100% uptime.
If you care about reliability, the fact that YourLastHost servers include free nightly backups is another reason to consider this host. Even if you do experience a technical malfunction, your data will be safe.
Its dedicated servers can cost as much as $279.99/month but YourLastHost shared servers are reasonably priced. Four packages are available, varying from the $1.95/month Bronze plan to the $7.95/month Platinum subscription.
The Bronze package comes with 2GB of space while the Platinum plan includes a more generous 50GB. Unfortunately, unlike the packages of most decent web hosting services, none of YourLastHost's plans include unlimited storage.
YourLastHost Plans In More Detail
Check out the table below to find out more about the specific features included with each YourLastHost plan:
|No. of Domains||5 Addon, 5 Parked||25 Addon, 25 Parked||50 Addon, 50 Parked||Unlimited|
|HDD or SSD||SSD||SSD||SSD||SSD|
|Website Builder||Not Included||Not Included||Not Included||Not Included|
|Customer Support||24/7 Tickets||24/7 Tickets||24/7 Tickets||24/7 Tickets|
For most potential customers, the $3.95/month Silver plan offers the best value. It includes 10GB of storage and 500GB of bandwidth, plenty for personal or small business use. Whichever package you choose, you'll benefit from a generous 90-day money-back offer, giving you plenty of time to change your mind.
Because YourLastHost's shared packages max out at a just 50GB of storage, I'd suggest enterprise users consider YourLastHost's VPS and dedicated server plans - but for regular users, that storage should be more than enough.
As part of my YourLastHost review, I tested my site load speed using GTMetrix. Speed was very middle of the road. The load times I experienced weren't super fast but they weren't horrible either.
YourLastHost Customer Support
The YourLastHost service team can be reached via a 24/7 ticket service. The team took a while to respond to my test tickets, but the replies I received were helpful and detailed.
However, if you wish to get technical support via live chat, I suggest you wouldn't - because even though there's a live chat service, it's mostly focused on generating new sales. That should definitely be improved in order to give this company an additional edge against the competitors.
YourLastHost Review: The Verdict
YourLastHost servers can be recommended for their reliable uptime - and there are so many packages to choose from, you really will get all you need from one provider.
Of course, like pretty much every host, YourLastHost has problems. The website performance is good but could slightly be improved. Same goes for the live chat customer support.
Still, if you can look past those two things, this might well be the last host you ever need.
- Reliable with 100% Uptime Rate
- Multiple Global Data Centers
- Wide Range of Server Types Available
- Relatively Fast Page Load Speeds
- No Live Chat or Phone Technical Support
- No Unlimited Storage Shared Hosting Plans
