Wedsites is a wedding administration tool. It allows couples to track wedding RSVPs and create sites to share details of their upcoming services.
It claims to offer 'Everything You Need to Plan a Wedding'. But is that just marketing or is this niche platform a useful tool for anyone about to tie the knot? You'll have to read my Wedsites review to find out.
What is Wedsites?
If the pun wasn't obvious enough, 'Wedsites' is a combination of 'wedding' and 'websites'. And those, in short, are what Wedsites offer - websites and planning tool for couples looking to get married.
User-friendly Website Creator And Planning Tool
The additional tools to make your life easier include RVSP collection, wedding budgeting, and a guest list database. It's not only a tool to make a website - it's supposed to be a full solution.
Getting started with Wedsites was a real breeze. All I had to do was enter my name and the details of the person I was about to get hitched to. You and your partner get equal access to the Wedsites account, which I thought was a nice touch.
Wedding Planning Tools That Actually Work
I was really impressed with the Wedsites wedding planning tools. It was still clear to me that its step-by-step planning checklist would be extremely helpful for anyone trying to figure out how to put on a great event.
The layout of the Wedsites dashboard is also straightforward, making it easy to navigate between things like catering budgets and RSVP reminders.
To see how well Wedsites would work in the real world, I created a wedding page and RSVP'd to it with random emails. I'm pleased to report I could see responses arrive in real time and that my wedding budget was automatically updated instantly.
Templates are Good Quality, But Customization is Limited
Wedsites accounts come with a selection of pre-designed website templates for you to choose from. There's a wide range of different designs on offer and, overall, I thought they were rather attractive. There's a good chance you'll find one that suits the personality of the service you want to put on.
However, when I wanted to add a bit of my own personality to my site, I found my options were rather restricted. You can modify the text, images and content order, but that's about it.
Still, given that the whole point of Wedsites is to make wedding planning simpler, I can see why they decided to put ease-of-use over user control. Still - if you're looking for complete design freedom, this isn't it.
Two Wedsites pricing tiers are available. The first is free while the 'Premium' version costs $12/month. Most significantly, free Wedsites accounts can't be used to create live websites - so if you want that, you'll need to pay.
Now, let's have a look at all of the main features of the Wedsites plans.
|Wedding Planning Checklist||Yes||Yes|
|Customer Support||24/7 live chat||24/7 live chat|
The free version of Wedsites is very limited. However, if you feel comfortable creating a site using a more general purpose website building service and just want help with planning, it's worth considering.
Annoyingly, the Premium version of Wedsites only comes with a subdomain. It is possible to redirect from custom domains that have been registered elsewhere, though.
Wedsites Customer Support
Wedsites offers 24/7 customer support through live chat. My test questions were answered pretty much instantly, and with plenty of detail.
Overall, if you're in trouble, Wedsites will help you out - there's no issue with that here.
Wedsites Review: The Verdict
Engaged couples who need tech support will get a lot out of the Wedsites service. Its RSVP tracking and guest database features are useful, and sites designed through it are attractive. The main drawbacks of the platform are the hefty restrictions placed on the free version and the absence of custom domain registration.
But if those two things are okay with you - it's a very powerful tool that's going to prove very useful.
