When looking for a good web hosting option, not everyone is willing to tie themselves into multi-year contracts.
If you're one of the people looking for the best deals that are paid month to month, you are in a perfect place. Let's forget the long commitments for a while and check the best 5 web hosting deals that will not bind you with lengthy contracts.
Which, in no particular order, are:
- A2 Hosting - Turbo Fast Servers
- Resellerclub - 99.99% Uptime Guarantee
- 1&1 IONOS - Superb Reliability
- HostGator - In-house Website Builder
- GreenGeeks - Eco-friendly Hosting
1. A2 Hosting
Recommended for: Fast month-to-month hosting
All shared A2 Hosting plans can be paid monthly and include unlimited storage and bandwidth. That makes them an excellent choice if you anticipate your site will get a lot of visitors.
SSD storage and a free SSL certificate are also thrown in, which I'm glad to see. SSL certification is more-or-less a must-have these days. Many other web hosts will charge extra for it, though, which sucks if you're paying monthly.
Also, A2 Hosting makes it easy to achieve super low load speeds by giving you a pick of European and North American data centers so you can choose the most local one for your audience.
And A2 doesn't skimp on reliability or support either - there's a 99.9% uptime guarantee and 24/7 technical support by live-chat and phone.
Amazing Monthly Prices
Like most web hosts, A2 doesn't offer the same monthly billed prices as they do for yearly subscriptions, but the difference in yearly and monthly costs is tiny. If you pay yearly, the starter Lite plan will work out at $3.92/month, but if you pay monthly, that increases to just $4.90/month, which is just 98 cents more.
- Low monthly prices
- Free SSL certificate
- 24/7 Live-chat and phone support
- 99.9% uptime
- Anytime money-back guarantee
- Domain registration not included
$4.89 for the first month
Recommended for: WordPress hosting
While Resellerclub doesn't offer a month-to-month payment for its standard shared hosting packages, there are plenty of monthly subscription options for its WordPress optimized packages.
Not only will WordPress come pre-installed, but you'll also receive new updates automatically and free data mirroring to another server.
Those are great time-saving features if you want to spend your time working on your site content, not sorting out its technical setup.
Resellerclub's WP plans are also excellent for high-traffic sites - they're based on a cloud architecture so your site's resources will scale immediately in response to traffic surges.
Last, but not least, Resellerclub is a great option if you want web hosting for a few months, but not a whole year, as monthly prices drop if you commit to 3 or 6-months plans.
Watch Out for Storage Caps
When billed month-to-month, the starter 'Lite' WP package costs $4.89/month (for the first month, then $6.99). For that, you'll get only get 5GB of storage, so you might want to consider an upgrade if you need more space.
Sadly, Resellerclub doesn't offer any unlimited storage WP plans, they top out at 40GB which is included with the $7.29 billed monthly 'Professional Lite' package.
- Variety of monthly contract lengths
- WordPress pre-installed
- Data mirroring
- 24/7 phone support
- No unlimited storage WP plans
3. 1&1 IONOS
$9.00/month and $12.00/year
Recommended for: Looking for a reliable hosting
But if you want a host that won't let YOU down, then 1&1 IONOS and its super stable hosting, is the way to go.
1&1 IONOS claims to hit near 100% uptime, but you don't have to take 1&1's word for it. We test the live uptime of this provider in our 1&1 IONOS review and it even manages to exceed the expectations that is sets.
With the cheapest 1&1 IONOS shared package, you'll get free daily backups and a mountainous 100GB of storage. This is great if you want to host a ton of content on your site without backing it up elsewhere.
But there are plenty of support choices if something does go wrong. Alongside the standard 24/7 live-chat and phone support, you'll be given a personal support consultant to help you with your personal site.
There's a Catch Though...
1&1 offers monthly billing options - the cheapest plan starts at $9 a month. However, if your main issue is not wanting to spend a lot of money, I also recommend you go for yearly billing instead. But wait a minute, isn't this article about monthly payment hosting?!
Yes, but thanks to 1&1's insanely cheap yearly prices, subscription for a year costs almost the same as for one month.
Take 1&1's starter business plan, for instance. You can either opt for a $9/month price with month-to-month payment, or you can sign up for a full year at just $1/month and get registration for 1 domain free. Quick math - that's only 3 dollars more.
It's worth noticing that the same plan will renew at $8 a month, with an entire payment for 1 year needed in advance. So it's not a true monthly hosting option - but it's an option worth entertaining.
Remember, you can also use 1&1's 30-day money-back guarantee to back-out of the yearly plan if you decide it's not for you.
- Amazing reliability
- 24/7 phone and live chat support
- Personalized support alternatives
- Generous storage with the base plan
- Month-to-month costs a lot more than yearly billing
Recommended for: all-inclusive hosting
Thanks to its famous drag-and-drop GATOR site building software, HostGator is an attractive proposition if you want a paid monthly host. It helps you design your site, as well as host it!
Of course, you don't have to use HostGator's own software. If you're a WordPress wizard, you can also pay monthly for a non-GATOR plan and benefit from 1-click WordPress installation instead.
Whichever you do choose, you'll get access to a fantastically simple site management control panel, and 24/7 phone and live-chat support.
The starter GATOR plan, which includes that wonderful site building software, begins at just $4.99/month with monthly billing.
- Free site building software
- 24/7 phone and live chat support
- Amazing control panel
- Can't switch to WordPress with GATOR plan
