Wix is one of the biggest names in website building, and one of the many things that makes it so popular is the fact that it offers its users a free plan. This provides people with the tools to build a stunning website without damaging their bank balance.

And if you'd like an even more simple experience, well, Wix ADI (Artificial Design Intelligence) is a website creation software from Wix that makes the website building process even easier.

It does this by gathering the information you provide by answering a series of questions about what you do and who you are, and then automatically builds your website - complete with text and images.

Its WYSIWYG (What You See Is What You Get) editor then makes it easy to customize the design of your website by choosing from a list of options.

And when the payments start rolling in - you can use the fully integrated automatic tax calculator.

And Now For The Weebly's Price...

There are four paid plans to choose from that range from $8.00 - $38.00 per month.

3. WordPress

From $0.00 /month

Recommended for: users who want complete creative freedom and a large number of plugins.

the best and free website builder software wordpressNext on my list -  WordPress. And there's really no surprise that it made my list of the best website building software - as it really is the leader of the pack.

Completely open-source, it's available from both WordPress' own website and pretty much every web hosting company.

So really, it doesn't cost anything - as long as you have great web hosting, you can get it done. Prices from that start from around $1 a month.

And once you get to editing, well, there are thousands of great themes to choose from. Some made by WordPress itself, some created by the community. Some are free, and some are paid. But you're almost guaranteed to find what you need.

Once you have chosen your theme, you are then free to customize it. For inexperienced users, this is where things may seem a little overwhelming - the huge number customization options and the endless list of plugins is somewhat daunting, to say the least. But get past the initial freight, and you can edit things like fonts, colors, images etc. You can even add your own documents or social media files.

To give you a clear view of the WordPress features, I thought it would be easier to make a list - and here it is.

  • There are more than 50,000 plugins to carry your website to new heights.
  • Plugins include things like WooCommerce to build an online store, and Yoast SEO to boost the traffic to your website.
  • The WordPress blogging platform allows you to interact with your visitors and potential clients
  • WordPress provides the user with plenty of online tutorials and information on learning code.

WordPress Plugins and Pricing

WordPress is unique with how it uses plugins to integrate things such as SEO, eCommerce, and additional security and backups. But you guessed it - often they come at a price.

As WordPress is open source, it means that there are plenty of plugins you can use for the most different of tasks. But it's worthy to remember, that for good things you will need to pay. Free plugins can often not be supported by the newest versions of WordPress or simply work worse than their premium counterparts.

So while choosing the ammunition for your next online project, choose wisely. Read reviews, compare the tools and pick the best options.

Pros

  •  Complete creative design freedom
  •  Excellent blogging platform
  •  Hundreds of free and professional themes

Cons

  •  Steeper learning curve than most website builders
  •  The free plan is limited
