In the past ten years, coffee shops have taken the world by storm. Let's face it - they're everywhere.
And with websites becoming the face of many businesses, it's no surprise that coffee shops want to be visible online. A beautifully designed website theme is, of course, one of the ways to draw attention to the business.
Choosing a coffee shop theme for a website might be tricky since there are hundreds of themes tailored to this line of business.
In this post, I'll talk about my top 5 coffee shop themes that I would choose if I owned a café. I'll include themes that work with WordPress as well as a couple designed to be used with HTML or bootstrap, too.
Here are the best coffee shop themes in no particular order:
- Barista (9 included demos offer impressive versatility)
- Grand Restaurant (Intuitive app-like cofee shop interface)
- EJ Coffee (Affordable choice with plenty of design customization options)
- Coffee Shop Multipage Website Template (Impressively responsive coffee shop theme)
- Hot Coffee (Plenty of WordPress plugins and a great drag-and-drop editor)
For WordPress users
$59.00 - one-time fee
A selection of nine demos means that Barista is one of the more versatile coffee shop WordPress themes on the market.
If you like the look of the demo's, they can easily be imported into your WordPress website. And what's better, it takes only a few clicks.
Among the selection of themes, you will find traditional business layouts among unique eye-catching designs. To compliment your websites good looks, Barista provides two powerful plugins: visual composer and slider revolution, to give your website an intuitive feel.
And if you're thinking of hosting an online shop, Barista is fully compatible with the powerful WooCommerce plugin. To purchase Barista, though, it will cost you $59.00, which includes 6 months of support from Edge-Themes.
Barista is definitely not the cheapest coffee shop theme in my list - but its impressive versatility is worth the one-time payment.
- Over 800+ Google fonts
- 9 impressive demos
- Good selection of plugins available
- One-click import feature
- Minor problems installing the theme
For WordPress users
$64.00 - one-time fee
Grand Restaurant is home to over 120,000 happy customers. This easy to set up theme has an intuitive content builder with a keynote app-like interface.
This stunning feature is also complemented with online and offline payment options supported by WooCommerce plugin. On top of the social media profiles that allows you to link straight to your social media sites, they include a premium plugin package (worth $19) that includes Google Maps, Mailchimp, Yoast SEO and more.
When setting up your website, you can choose from a library of modules and page sections to make up your content. And this is where Grand Restaurant really shines - it's design features are brilliant.
From the intuitive interface, you can add and manage content visually. On top of this, there are 3 menu layouts, 5 blog layouts, and 4 contact templates.
Grand Restaurant is $64.00 to purchase, which places it near the top of my list in terms of cost.
- Intuitive content builder with keynote app-like interface
- A selection of plugins - including WooCommerce
- Stunning design templates
- Price is high compared to other coffee shop themes
- May not suit smaller/independent businesses
3. EJ Coffee
For Joomla users
From $23.10 - one-time fee
This is a great coffee shop theme for anyone looking for something a little different. It's designed to be used with sites based on Joomla rather than WordPress.
It comes with lots of pre-integrated social media options, allowing customers to easily share your delicious drinks and help grow your brand.
EJ Coffee has just one demo to work with. However, this doesn't mean you'll be limited when deciding how your website will look and perform. Four different color schemes and dozens of different layout options are included, so you can still easily customize your site to fit your store's aesthetic.
One of the best things about EJ Coffee is that it's based on a Bootstrap CSS architecture. Although it's designed to be managed through Joomla, rather than Bootstrap, that means your site will be extremely responsive to different browser types, providing a consistent experience for customers browsing on the move.
With current discounts, EJ Coffee costs just $23.10 (the standard price is $29), making it one of the most affordable themes on my list!
- Plenty of color schemes to choose from
- Extremely affordable
- Responsive on different devices
- Lack of customer support
For Bootstrap users
From $75.00 - one-time fee
OK, so it doesn't have a snazzy name like the other themes in this list, but that's not the only reason this theme is unique. It's designed for Bootstrap, rather than for WordPress. An outcome? Websites that respond super well to different browser types.
One of the big advantages of Coffee Shop Multipage Website Template (ouch, what a name) is that it'll help your site pop for readers using mobile or tablet devices.
It's a decently fleshed out theme with space for every bit of content you could possibly need on a coffee shop website. Site areas include a product gallery, contact page, and blog space.
Additionally, the theme includes more than a dozen stock pictures with a free for life license, helping your website to look professional and well put together.
I particularly liked the customer testimonials section which is placed on the site homepage by default. At a glance, it will allow readers to pick up on some of the things that make your cafe unique and tell them what kind of experience to expect.
A single site license cost $75, and includes 24/7 customer support through an email system and live chat. Sadly, phone support isn't available. If you really like look of the theme but are committed to using a WordPress site, you can also shell out $149 to convert it.
- Extremely responsive to different browser types
- 24/7 customer support
- Free stock pictures included
- WordPress conversion is expensive
5. Hot Coffee
For WordPress users
$59.00 - one-time fee
Hot Coffee's focus is on customer satisfaction. This theme will cover all aspects of promoting your brand image, outlining your menu, and showcasing your best products in an effortless framework.
Hot Coffee is actually very pleasant on the eye, with an easy going color scheme of soft, (milky), and creamy colors. This theme instantly puts your product in front of your audience.
This theme runs on a fully responsive layout that is retina ready, while it also makes content management super easy with its drag-and-drop page builder. Also, if you want to give your customers the option to order food or coffee via your website, Hot Coffee is WooCommerce ready too.
Not only is the theme compatible with Visual Composer, but also with the Booked Appointments Plugin which allows customers to reserve tables online, and a FoodPress plugin to showcase your meal and drink options in a unique way.
But, what about pricing? Well, like it or not, Hot Coffee is priced at the higher end at $59.00.
- A retina-ready responsive layout
- An impressive selection of WordPress Plugins
- drag-and-drop page builder
- Not the best theme for mobile devices
The Best Coffee Shop Theme: Who Tops the Chart?
Of the 5 coffee shop themes I have listed, Grand Restaurant and Hot Coffee are the two coffee shop templates that stand out.
Grand Restaurant has the most intuitive content builder and interface. While Hot Coffee also has an impressive retina ready display, it also holds the secret ingredient to a user-friendly design which is a drag-and-drop builder.
To help further your decision, I have made a list below of what (I believe) each one of them does best:
- Barista is suited to businesses who want a user-friendly experience and customization options.
- Grand Restaurant is best suited for users who want an intuitive content builder with keynote app-like interface.
- EJ Coffee is best suited for Joomla users on a budget.
- Coffee Shop Multipage Website Template is the best for Bootstrap users.
- Hot Coffee is suited to coffee shops who want to promote their brand with WordPress plugins and enjoy a drag-and-drop editor.
Overall, Grand Restaurant is the most impressive out of the bunch and my personal favorite. It has a unique interface and extremely good design features that will suit almost any user. Hot Coffee is another great choice for an all-around great performance, though.
